crashed powerbook g4

My powerbook g4 is crashed. It will not boot. you can hear the harddrive start up... but the screen stays completely dark. I have a macbook I can connect to it... just tell me what to do. the g4 is completely unresponsive... I tried starting it in target mode (holding down the t button at startup) and that didn't work... holding down option doesnt work either....
