Macbook/Snow leopard question

So i just bought a MacBook Today, its the 2,1. And from what ive heard, its either the late 2006 or late 2007 model, on apple, it says upgrade from leopard to snow leopard for 30 bucks. Does this apply to me too? That would be really badass... or will i have to pay full price because its not the newest macbook.

and also, the new 13.3 macbooks have a 2.13 with 3mb of cache, why do i have a 2.18 with 4mb of cache? why would my model be slightly faster, minus the maximum amount of ram.

Thank you

Just a difference in the architecture of the newer processor, so no, yours is not faster. The new model has a slightly lower processor clock speed (on a more powerful processor), and the new Macbooks have a faster memory bus, and the video is significantly faster. Your older MacBook maxes out at 3GB for memory. The new model can be upgraded to 6 GB.
If your older MacBook already has Leopard, you will be able to purchase the SL upgrade for about $30
