| ichat
I just recently got a new laptop for college, and I can not seem to get ichat to work correctly. If i click bonjour, this little screen comes up and I can get the insight camera to work, but I can't seem to get it to connect with aim or any other system, so I cant chat with other people. Does anyone know how to fix this and get it to work?

Did you enter your AIM credentials properly in iChat's preferences, under "Accounts?" Bonjour will only work with others on your local network (like the computers on a network at school, or in an office), not across the internet. It's for chatting "locally." Unless this is what you want to do, you can safely close the Bonjour window.

That's not the correct place to create a new iChat AIM account -- that place is for creating new system accounts so that other users can log on and use the computer. The "Accounts" pane of the System Preferences has nothing to do with iChat. Open iChat, then select "Preferences..." from the "iChat" menu in the menubar. Under the "Accounts" pane, you can add an AIM account there by clicking the plus sign ("+") under the list of accounts (you'll probably see the "Bonjour" account already listed there). When adding an AIM account there, you will need to know your AIM screen name and the password associated with that screen name. If you do not have an AIM account yet, then you can sign up for one from http://www.aim.com (click "Get a Screen Name" in the upper right-hand corner of the page).

| If someone is available to do a video chat, you will see a green "movie camera" icon next to their name.
