I Broke My MAMP

Hi everyone,

I just broke my MAMP installation and don't know how to fix it.

I installed MAMP and a Wordpress installation under htdocs/wordpress. Everything was configured and working fine.

I'm new to Wordpress, and I was trying to change the path of my blog from localhost:8888/wordpress/post-title to localhost:888/post-title just to experiment with my link structure. So I changed the "Wordpress Address" and the "Blog Address" under settings, and removed the /wordpress at the end.

Well that was a dumb mistake.

It obviously broke the Wordpress installation. But it also broke my MAMP installation. Whenever I try to go to the MAMP start page I get a "Forbidden" permissions error saying "You don't have permission to access /MAMP/ on this server."

I've tried deleting the entire MAMP installation and reinstalling and it doesn't make a difference. I also made sure that the services were properly shut down and tried rebooting, etc. I just can no longer access the MAMP start page.

Is there a more thorough way to flush my settings and start from scratch? (or a way to repair what I've done?)

Thank you,
clesage
