Exclamation Using Remote Install, Trying to start up in network setup?

So, My buddy has a Powerbook G4. Its currently running leopard, His DVD drive doesn't ever read Verbatim DVD discs, And thats what we made our backup disc on. So were going to use Remote install, I can't find it anywhere on his computer, but besides that, it wont let us choose a start up disk as network setup, Even if we restart and hold option key, All that it shows is his current hard drive.. So is there a way to get it to start up as network... what am i doing wrong? Does his computer need to have a remote install app on his computer, and can we get the package off of the leopard disc??

Thanks for anyhelp
