Configuration : Trash on Desktop and Keymapping

Two basic questions.

Keymapping
On my old 9.1 system (since system 7.5) I have made a personal keymapping. On my french keyboard it's silly but I have to use shift-; to make a single ".". My personnal keymapping is just a single System file, build with ResEdit, I put into my System suitcase.

Is there any file I can edit to change a french or engish keymap ? I try to edit the /System/Library/Keyboards/Francais.keymapping but nothing happened.

Does anyone has an idea ?

Second question : Is it possible to make an alias of the Trash on the Desktop as on the old Mac system ? (Even using Terminal App)
