divx audio problem

ok so ive got perian installed and therefore have an ac3 codec however divx still wont play audio in that format anyone know what I should try next because I have ran out of ideas and googling the problem is just giving me things that I have already tried.

Have you installed the DivX plug-in? You can grab it from www.divx.com.

um yah I did. if I was dumb enough not to get a divx player for playing divx I probably wouldn't have been smart enough to turn on the computer.
