Unhappy Firefox can't see embedded Google Maps on any Page

    Hey,

I'm new here, because I never had any problem till now with my macbook yet. I'm not sure if this forum is the right place to ask. If not, tell me where to ask.

    My Problem:

In quite a lot homepages you can see embedded maps, like such from google. They show up in safari without any problem, but my firefox is a bit silly and shows only a blank white box.

The patagonia homepage is an example. it should show a map (its not googlemap in this case) when you want to find stores near your place:
    patagonia stores

This problem shows also up by embedded google maps, whereas http://maps.google.com/ is working perfectly.

    - Firefox 3.5.3 (Extensions disabled)
    - Mac OSX 10.5.8 Leopard

Thanks for reading and happy days,
    Josen

The Patagonia site you linked to doesn't show a map for me when selecting any location in the UK, no matter what browser I use -- it looks to be broken on the server side, and there's nothing you can do about that.

When selecting a location in the US, it works fine for me on all my browsers (Safari and Firefox included). Does it show a map for you for locations in the US?

Can you provide a link to a web page with an embedded Google map that works for you in Safari, but does not work in Firefox?

Believe or not Patagonia has maps .. for Europe.
Ireland > Dublin... > pick one of them > then zoom out so at some point you see a great map showing the 2nd most inaccurate map - that has a map (where you can nearly see Cork and Belfast too).
Spain shows map on default size - for Barcelona you see everything from Hospitalet to Blanes.
And Canada has maps... so maybe 50 % of countries have a map and others don't.

Ah, I just found that "Leeds" works -- it offers two maps to view.

Some other places under the UK don't seem to have any maps at all, and no real "error message" or verbage stating so... just a blank, white square.

Could it be that Firefox and Safari are both working fine on your system, and perhaps you're just trying to view an area that has no associated map?

Do you have JavaScript turned on in Firefox's preferences? Google maps relies heavily on Javascript, and if it's off, then it just plain won't work.

yes, javascript is turned on in the firefox setting menu
and i allowed javascript to to everything (advanced settings)
    Java is also turned on.

As i said before, http://maps.google.com/ works on Firefox, but not on sites where its imbedded. So i guess thats not a problem of Javascript.
