iChat/Skype not letting me videochat

hello,
skype and iChat are not letting me videochat anymore, when i first got the computer 5 months ago they worked fine. i didnt use them for a few weeks and now they are not working.
i can still do audio only on skype and i can text chat on both.
my webcam works fine for photobooth.
my imac has all the recent software updates.

Did you change out your router or start using a firewall?
