Macbook Pro Running Really Slow.

I installed Snow Leopard about a week ago and since then, my Macbook Pro has been running sluggish. Especially when I open iChat and start a video, the whole system runs really, really slow. Also, my fans have been kicking on more and more, louder and louder even though my computer isn't running that hot (and I have it sitting on a chill pad). Somebody please help with this.

Download the free application AppFresh and update all your applications that were made for Snow Leopard.

Plus download either Onyx or Yasu and run all the cleaning routines. Once the program reboots your Mac, manually reboot to completely rebuild your Startup/Shutdown cache.

If you do both of these things and it is still sluggish open /Applications/Utilities/Activity Monitor and see what is eating your processes up and maybe you can get rid of the offending application.

What install method did you use? Upgrade, A&I, clean install?
How much RAM?
How big hard drive and how much of it is free? If less than 15 % of total size, clear more space.
How many user-installed fonts?
