No itunes store -- Downgrade itunes?

I just gave in to the stupid "A new version if itunes is available" message and upgraded to itunes 9, only now it says I can't access the itunes store without Safari 4. When I tried to download Safari 4, it said my operation system (osx 10.5.6) wasn't upgraded enough. So what can I do now? Is there a way to downgrade my itunes (without, obviously, losing all my stuff)?

Thanks for any help.

How about running to software update and getting everything updated from 10.5.6 to 10.5.8?

Yes, you should. Click on the Apple icon in the upper-left hand corner and click "Software Update". It should then update your computer, reboot it, and then you can use Safari 4.
