Check Network AppleScript

Hey Guys! I have a ton of questions but for now lets start with this one.
Im using automator to run a serious of scripts. The script starts by going online (http://dropbox.domain.com/file) and downloading a specific file.
But I noticed that if there is an Internet issue/ or no connection for some reason, the script fails. I would like to add an applescript that will First check for an internet connection by pinging or something, if the network is ok - to continue with the next automator script, if the internet is bad I would like the script to hold and standby, wait 30 min and try again until internet is ok, then continue with script!

Note: I would like to be able to use this script in automator.

Easy?
