Vanishing pictures in Google Earth.

Hi
I have created a kmz with locations, pictures & descriptions. When I
email it from within GE others can see all its content on their
machines.
If, at the same time, I email myself a copy of the kmz it will load
into Temporary Places in GE and I too can view all its content.

I close GE and, when prompted, save it to My Places.
Then when I reopen GE & open the kmz from within My Places I can no
longer see the pictures!

If I then email that kmz same to myself and open it into Temporary
Places - lo, & behold, the pictures are there!

How do I retain the links to the pictures? Am I right to suppose that
they are in the kmz? If so why do they only show as ? marks when
opened from My Places?

[I geotagged each picture by positioning cross hairs in Google Earth in
the right place and then dropped it onto a free app called Geotagger.
I then dropped the set into iPhoto and using a plugin called 'iPhoto to Google Earth' I created the kmz.]
