10.4 & 10.5 licenses

We have a machine in our office that we upgraded with a purchased 10.5 license from 10.4. We would like to restore that machine to 10.4 and use the 10.5 license on a different MAC. Is there an easy way to do this, or do you have to reload the existing 10.5 machine from scratch back to 10.4 and then apply any updates since?

You may be able to archive & install 10.4 on the one running 10.5 to preserve all your data. Just to be on the safe side you should have a backup if your data is that important to you.

Put the 10.4 DVD into the drive, reboot, hold down C when the machine restarts until it starts booting from the DVD. Look for an Options button and select "Archive and Install."

Let us know if you have further questions.
