software install/update fail

hi,

software updates and installations don't work anymore.
i do get the "Install X items" button. and after clicking it, i can accept the license agreement but than nothing happens and i'm back at the screen where it says "Install X items".
normally the software update would request my password after the license screen but i doesn't anymore.

it works if i use another account though.
and i think i do have this problem since i upgraded to 10.6, but i'm not sure.

Check the account permissions. Maybe during the upgrade, you chose a different administrative account...

Download and run Onyx and for your case in particular I would run the cleaning utilities especially pertaining to the user.

first of all, thank you very much for your suggestions.
unfortunately, is still have the problem. i tried about everything onyx provides.

and for the account permissions, i still can execute everything with sudo, so my account permissions should be fine?

btw. i just tried to add another user account, and clicked on the "click the lock to make changes" button, than a message appears for less than a second "authenticating..." and nothing more happens.
