Language bar and keyboard won't work...

I have a PowerMac Dual 2.5Ghz running Tiger (10.4.11) and 2 hours ago today it stopped allowing me to type anything on it, apart from allowing me to type my user password all the different types I restart it to see if the problem can be solved that way.
I had the language bar and icon blank on my top bar. It used to show the language flag as usual, but now it is only a blank space and if I click on it I can see the options: Hide Input Source Name and Open International. When I go to System Preferences everything works OK until I click Keyboard And Mouse, then System Preferences shows that it crashed and it asks me to Close, Reopen or Report.
I have no idea how this happened and how I could solve it. Previously to that there was only one incident that an old version of GarageBand I have crashed and I sent a Report about. I think after that the problem started, and I can't type any document, or on browser for emails or anything at all...
