Playing CDGs

I've been looking for ages for stereo backing tracks for popular songs, and found a site that supplies karaoke bars.

They have albums in CDG format, and I've no idea what that is... I want to know if this will play in my machine (see sig) without extra software, or not?

And if anyone has any suggestions for good retailers, or places I can find instrumental backing tracks, I'd love to hear about that too...

CDG

Fileext.com says that is a "DART Karaoke Studio CD+G File". Seems to be some application you need to buy first. I would check http://www.dartpro.com/Products/New.asp on that.

If it is what I think it will play just fine but you will not get the extra Graphics stuff. I had a CD I bought back in the 80's that had that and it was for all intents and purposes normal. But if you put it in a Dreamcast I think it was you would get this hokey lowres music video with the tracks.

Thanks guys, looks good.

I got my answer. CDG is actually CD+G which means it's a regular CD with graphics (it's for karaoke machines), but will play correctly in a regular CD player.
