Airport Express not connecting to intern

Hi,

I have an airport express that has been used before without problems.

after i moved, i reset it and what happens now is that both my laptops can see the wireless signal, it says it is connected to it, but there is no internet.

I am running 10.6.2

When the ethernet cable is connected directly to either of my laptops it does work without problems.

If i set it to 'connect manually' the router does not react, it is as if there is no communication between AE and the router.

And if i leave it to connect automatically, there is also no response from the router.

I tried setting it up at a friend's house and i got the exact same results. I could see the network, i was connected to it, but not to internet.
