text edit autosave is not workin

when i open text edit, and yet i haven't saved it, it gives me an error that it can't save it automatically. i don't think i had this error before. here's the error:

Repair your permissions.

Then:
Make a new folder call it 'test' save it on your desk top.
Open text edit and write a note (or fill it with copied and cut text) save it to the new folder 'test'
Delete the folder 'test' with the document inside it.
If all this works without a dialogue box appearing with some warning all is well .
