    Been given a Mac G4

    Hi all,

Please forgive my first post if it seems a bit.....newbie...

Just been given a Mac G4 15" TFT running 10.3.9. I have 756 MB RAM, 80GB hard drive, airport card and a superdrive.

I have noticed since it was gifted that iTunes is on something like 5.0 and Safari is on 1.2 or similar.

I really love the desigh, build quality and accessories but how do I upgrade it?

I want to be able to run basic games on it for my 4 year old son, browse the internet (properly) etc etc.

    Any sensible advice soaked in!

    Thanks

    Alex

With a G4 I would up the RAM with cheap RAM you can see from RamSeeke.com to the max you can afford and the G4 can take, because OS X LOVES RAM!

Then I would upgrade that G4 to at least 10.4.11 PPC from LowEndMac.

With enough RAM and if your G4 speed is or 1GHz then maybe you should think about Leopard.

2006 Mac Book Pro 2.16 (first Gen) OS X 10.7.4
    2TB Time Capsule, 2 TB
