Mac Pro 2009 8 Core 2.66...Black Screens

Hey guys,

This is our video editor Mac running OSX 10.6.8, Final Cut Studio 3. When iditing in FCP 7, all of a sudden I'm getting "black screens of death...and right before all of my audio in playback is garbled. Can't find the problem.
