Keychain arrrggghhh

for some unknown reason with no changes to the system whatsoever, My keychain has decided NOT to accept my iMap .att mail password.

I have tried Keychain first aid and I get
!. Verification terminated unexpectedly
2. Repair terminated unexpectedly

In preferences I reset to default. I deleted the "old" and STILL when I click on "Show password" I get this message "Access to this item is restricted." WHY? Why does the keychain NOT accept the imap passwords but does accept gmail (Pop) Why on ALL accounts when I click on the Show password button do I get "Access to this item is restricted."
