Question mail help

this may be a simple question, but i cannot find the answer. i dont know what some people like me would do if it were not for a site like this! since you cannot get free tech support (from a person) from apple (that im aware of at least). anyways, iv had the same hotmail email address for years, and since getting my ibook, iv been wanting to use the mail program (it looks a lot easier tol use). its too much of a hassel to change email address' or anything, so i want to check my hotmail with 'mail'. can i do this? i have the feeling that i may be putting in the incoming and outgoing severs in wrong. well, i dont really even know what those are!
thanks a million to anyone who can help.

This is probably what you want (I hope):

http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/18189

It allows the Mail.app program to use the httpmail protocol. This is probably a "Bundle" for the Mail program, so you will need to read the instructions! Also, be aware that Hotmail has a habit of not complying with standards, so it might be troublesome, but it should work (I haven't tried it). Plus, it's freeware.

Oops, I think that link goes to an older version... VersionTracker seems to think that version 1.2 is later than version 1.20 ... go to the developers page and make sure you get the right one!

cool man, thanks. i got the program, but am having a hell of a time getting it to work right. there aren't any instructions or anything. so i posted my problems on the developers website, hopeing they'll respond. if you think you know anything about how this stuff works (i know you said you havn't tried it yourself) then i'll tell you what the deal is and maybe you can help. anyway, thanks again!
