Dual Display Question

Hello,

I would like to connect my powerbook to my 17" monitor so that one window can flow from monitor to monitor. I plugged in the adapter and all that it is doing is showing the same thing that is on my powerbook. Can anyone help me out with this. Thanks in advance.

peace,
Steve

Which kind of PowerBook do you have? On my model (12" Aluminium PowerBook) there is a function key (F7) which switches from mirroring (what you described) to dual-display. This option can also be turned on in system preferences>displays if you don't have the key.

Thank you! I am so used to complex solutions to problems with windows xp. With OSX it is as simple as pushing a button!

Thanks,
Steve

Also from preferences > displays you can change the geometry of where the screens are and which gets the menu. My powerbook sits lower than my monitor so I have it slid down a bit to make it look like they match up correctly.
