what kind of iMac? give us the specifications (processor speed, memory, hard drive size) and we can help you, but with that we can't do much. I would say it would run fine, but by no means will it be speedy. I run 10.2.6 on a 600ghz iMac with 256mb ram, and by todays standards that is pretty slow, but i can put up with it.

Slot loading macs are fine with OSX, lowest spec models are slow but it still works. Tray loading macs can't handle it. |

I have the same iMac as Shifting, 400 Mhz slot-loading iMac DV+ Graphite (I wish Apple would call it something like that, they just call it an iMac) and I have OS X on it. It's slow, but it's very stable. (I don't use it very often, though, because all the programs I use work better or only in 9.)

Hehe... I'm still running 10.2.6 on a 300 MHz machine and it dosen't seem to slow for me (maybe I'm just patient). Guess I should upgrade sometime soon...

My dad is thinking of getting OS 10.2 for his 400 mhz iMac DV. It's good to see positive experiences with OSX on some semi-aged computers. Anybody else have any experience with a similar settup? He's counting on me to make a decision for him on this one, so I don't want to get into something sticky
