Give Carbon Copy Cloner a whirl.
my new powerbook should arrive in a few days and I was wondering if there was an easy way to copy everything relating to my mail, addressbook, and keychain from the old to the new
also, are ichat buddylists local or on the aol servers?
are safari bookmarks ~/library/safari/bookmarks.plist?
where would I find my ev:nova registration info?
this is all pretty simple trial and error stuff Im sure, but I need to format and ship my old powerbook asap once the new one is heret
thanks in advance

Give Carbon Copy Cloner a whirl.
Systems:
• 2.5 GHz MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo, 4 GB RAM, 320 GB hard drive, runs 10.6.8
• 1.6 GHz iMac G5, 1.5 GB RAM, 120 GB hard drive, runs 10.4.11 (out of commission)
• iPhone 4, 16 GB, iOS 4.3.5
Use an Ethernet cable and FileSharing to transfer.
I wouldn't use Carbon Copy Cloner. You want a new system on the new machine, not a copy from the old machine. It's easy enough to just drag the files/folders over that you need. Any apps I would install new from the original disks.
iChat in your Addressbook - user>library>AddressBook
AOL stores screen names on their servers
user>library>mail
Keychain
user>library>Keychain
Safari
user>library>Safari
Drag that Safari folder out holding the Option key to copy it. Then put it in the new system.
Do a FIND for ev nova and if you don't fine it, you can call/email the software company for that info. You should have it if it was a legitimate purchase.
You can still CCC settings, though, instead of the whole system, can't you? I've never actually used it.

How much trouble is it to setup a new machine? Sounds like you're lazy.
I don't have any data to migrate.
Well I do, but I have nowhere to migrate it to.
And yes, I do my best on the laziest front!![]()
