pdf printing resolution problem (adobe reader)

hi,

i create a test document in TextEdit using Times, Helvetica, and Futura. i print this over USB to my brother HL1440, looks great, 600dpi.

now i print to pdf and open in Preview, print again, looks fine, 600dpi.

now i open the pdf in reader 6.0, print, and it looks bad: like maybe 96dpi. this goes for all the fonts, even times and helvetica (which one would presume are as unobjectionable as it gets).
if i turn on "pass-through postscript printing" in reader, whatever the hell that is, same problem.

i'm stumped. ideas?

jon.

You may not like my answer.

Return to using Reader 5.0.x. Version 6 sucks.

Similar problems exist in OS9 but the solution there is to return to 4.0.5 and stay away from v5.

Sorry.
