    Angry iChat is pissing me off!

    Hi,

    iChat keeps giving me this strange behaviour, when I did a clean installation of Panther after getting this bug/error?. The problem is that iChat dubble posts all the messages, like if I say hello it show the messages 2 times. This is very anoying if youre in a chatroom where they post alot of messages.

    Any help for me?

    Have you tried deleting the iChat.plist Preference file?

    Repair your permissions with Disk Utility, boot into single-user mode (restart, then immediately hold Cmd-S) and run "fsck -fy" and when repeat until it says everything is okay (then type reboot or restart, not sure), then report back here if you're still having problems
    Systems:
    2.5 GHz MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo, 4 GB RAM, 320 GB hard drive, runs 10.6.8
    1.6 GHz iMac G5, 1.5 GB RAM, 120 GB hard drive, runs 10.4.11 (out of commission)
    iPhone 4, 16 GB, iOS 4.3.5

    Drag these plist files to the desktop;

    com.apple.iApps.plist
    com.apple.iChat.AIM.plist
    com.apple.iChat.plist
    com.apple.iChat.SubNet.plist
    com.apple.iChatAgent.plist

    Log out and back in and try.

    If the problem remains, trash those files and also iChat and reinstall it.
