Small but useful tip.

I know this is pretty obvious and most people have already tried it, but I thought I'd point it out.

If you open up System Preferences and go to the dock panel, you'll see a checkbox that says "Animate opening applications." Uncheck it. From now on, rather than that cheesy CPU hogging bouncing icon in the dock, the arrow on the bottom of the app will fade in and out. It looks much more professional than the bouncing icon and takes up way less cpu.

Note: If your computer is as slow as mine it would be a good idea to turn off the dock magnification and auto-hide. For me it makes all the difference.

If I remember correctly, those were the first changes I made when I first stumbled across the Dock settings. It makes it considerably less bloated.

Seems to load apps slightly faster as well.
