Unhappy Safari Is A No Go!!!

Well one day I go to open Safari and it and it unexpectedly quits! So I send a "Crash Report" describing what happened. After that I trashed the preferences and fixed the permissions, Still no luck. Lastly I tried to re install Safari, but I can't because when I go to select the destination the computer tells me that I can't use the software on the selected volume! I'm at a loss, I have no clue how to even approach something like this! Please Help

    Thanks

Run the Panther installer from the CD. It will only install Safari, since you already have the rest of the system installed, and it will repair anything that may be broken.

    Hopefully, that will work.

In the future, NEVER delete a file until you have exhausted all other options, which you didn't do with Safari. After trying to delete prefs, repair permissions, restart... you should always log-in as a different user and see if the problem persists. If not, then you know it's a minor prefs-type problem and doesn't warrant a full reinstall.

First thing to try is to repair Permissions.
