    Safari vs. Camino (again)

I just tried to buy a subscription to TV Guide at their website (https://subscriptions.tvguide.com/su...pl=117&prm=525). My default browser is Safari with Camino a close second (I don't like Camino's autofill or lack thereof). Safari showed the page for a few seconds and then blanked out, hence, I could not order the mag. Camino had no problem but I had to fill in the blanks by hand. Seems Safari still has problems with https sites.

Yeah, Safari still has a few probs, but as much as I loved Chimera when the 0.1 version came out, it's nothing today. Nothing. If you need a lightweight Mozilla variant, Firefox beats Camino so badly, it hurts my old Mac heart...try it, and see if you can go back to Camino. I couldn't.

I have not encountered any problems with Safari on financial sites since 1.2.1 (included in the OS X 10.3.3 update) other than the occasional Microsoft Windows only site that won't work with anything except Internet Explorer 6 running on Windows and those won't even work with Explorer 5.2 on either the Mac or PC.

But if you like a Mozilla variant, I have to say that at the moment Firefox has surpassed Camino and it seems as if Camino development has really slowed down.

Have you tried the latest camino builds? They have definitely put some zip back into the browser...at least it seems that way on my machine.

That page works fine for me. Panther > Safari 1.2.1 (v125.1)
