Time connected won't work

Hi this is my first post, being a relative newbie to macs. My problem is that my isp changed dial-in numbers, but as soon as I changed the number in my set-up, the "show time connected" in the top bar no longer works. It just shows 00.00.00. Nothing else has changed in any of the settings except the dial-in number. It's not a big problem, but I'm on time limit sessions and it's nice to keep track of time online so it doesn't cut out at the wrong moment. Thanking you for any help/advice you can give.

It sounds like your ISP does not support the time connected option on the new number.
