How do i set firefox as the default browser?

Just an example, but i really need to know

Open Safari, goto Safari > Preferences and change the default web browser to Firefox in the dropdown list.

And if you want control over the internet protocol helpers (so not only set Firefox in Safari or Eudora in Mail.app, but rather set _all_ of those helpers in preferences): http://www.monkeyfood.com/software/moreInternet/ - "More Internet" does just that.

If you have Jaguar (10.2.x) then save a copy of the Internet.prefPane. Then move it in Panther to ~(your Home Folder) and it will re-appear in your System Preferences in place of the .Mac Pref pane. Then you can change the Default Browser along with Email Preferences.
