Cool

As some of you may have noticed, MacOS X doesn't have screensaver passwords when the system language is set to english. I fixed it and have posted the fix at:

http://homepage.mac.com/cccheviot

Let me know how it works for you... and remember, back up your original files before using.

That would be real cool. A problem though. Seems like the link is dead. I get a white page which keeps reloading itself.

Yeah, it worked. How the hell did you turn this on??
You have got to send this to all the major sites (or i will). People are gonna love this.

Not perfect though. It doesn't work if you use the Test button, nor does the screensaver has an instant ScreenSaver corner, so it isn't good as a lock function.
Now you have to idle 5 minutes, before you can leave your Mac alone. But i guess that's why they left it out for now.

I allready sent...

I allready sent word to MacFixit and Resexcellence. They seem like the sites that would want it.

The french version of the password control panel has the password feature, but the english version doesnt. I just stole the French version and fixed it a little.

Another one...

I found another PW enabler named "Screen Lock"
You can get it at http://www.versiontracker.com/moreinfo.fcgi?id=9047
Is there any differance in what theis two do? I only Screen lock. it seems like they do the same thing, except this one installs another file (classes.nib) as well as "objects.nib" found in the same directory.
