| Cannot change deskop background anymore When I open system preferences and deskop, select another pict from the apple standard ones it fills the well but the deskop background does not change. I am currently using Aqua Blue..it wont let me change to any other..This worked perfectly earlier..I believe this is the first time i try after 10.1.1 update...  |

| The same thing happened to me (pre 10.1.1) while I was trying to fix my goofed Airport BaseStation. I changed it in Preferences, but it didn't actually change until I restarted a couple times. Then it finally clicked. Dunno why it happened, it hasn't happened since. Oh well.

| Desktop pic updateing I have had this problem from time to time when the machine has been up for a while. Opening process viewer (apps/ utilities) and killing finder fixes it. Finder will restart with the correct dekstop. hope this helps
