Here is a strong beer for your speed camera issues. I here speed camera issues in Maryland (In Virginia we call The People's Republic of Maryland) and they have speed cameras between DC & Baltimore. Plus at one time Maryland wanted to ban people from smoking in their own house. An uproar from all TV& Radio Stations put a stop to that. Plus in the States most of these cameras are run by private companies. The fines my friend got were so low it would cost them more if they went to court to fight it. It seems like a racket most of the time. I had a coworker get a ticket for 1 mile...

Read the article How to transfer from Your iPhone to a new Mac. The article points to some programs. If you search carefully you can find a free sync back program somewhere, like DeTune.

Another Scotch Ale for me please! Yes I was over ranting about slow corners SUVs (at least here in the US). Plus to open another driver rant it is what I call the "Red Light Sleeper". You have all seen this affect, your about to take a (US) left hand turn (with a green arrow to go) and the first car goes while the next car just sits there for a good 7 to 15 seconds before going. It always get to me why people do this especially on quick light arrows to turn. I was just caught behind one coming home tonight from the grocery store. He didn't move when the green arrow came on and stayed...

Go your Home Folder's Library and select the Preferences and find com.apple.finder.plist and trow it out. Then reboot to see if that helps. Good Luck.

Plus how old is you hard drive? Things like this can point to a something wrong on the old drive. PS- Plus remember the Finder's Preferences (in the Finder menu select the word 'Go' while holding down the 'option' key and select 'Library', Preferences folder. There you can find Finder's Preferences: com.apple.finder.plist and throw that into your Trash can. Then log out and log back in. This will reset Finder's Preferences and might fix the problem. Lastly, are you running any programs to change icons?

Scotch it is for the gentleman! I on the other hand will have some Scotch Ale :) Now to get some conversations going: Is it me or are some car drivers getting angry with SUV drivers. I mean being behind a SUV driver going around a left hand turn or a curve in rode and they act as if their vehicle will tip over and go around 3 (US) miles/hour. I mean I can't count the number of times I missed a left turn light because some SUV is taking it's sweet time going making a left turn (we drive on the right in the USA)! Does anyone else see SUV drivers by themselves most of the time?...

First can you tell us how you connect to the NAS? Is the connection SMB or some other way? What is the ping time to the NAS device? How is the NAS setup, RAID 0 or RAID 1?

To run to see what Mail is doing startup Mail but fo to Mail's menu item 'Window' and select "Connection Doctor". When that is open click on the 'show Detail' and then have it check again. This time a printout will show and then you can see what the rue error is. Also when you changed from POP to IMAP did you change that is the server side too? I ask because both side have to be setup the same way. T lastly with you GMAIL account I sure hope you set it up properly as explained in the article Make Mail and Gmail play nice. See if this can help you with Mail using GMAIL IMAP.

One in your Drive used compressed Air (at an angle to not blow more into it) and try to blow out the dust that has infested it. Two use a free burning application appropriately called Burn to see if that helps. Lastly a good old fashion disk cleaner can help also.

I would then take that ISP router back to ISP and say it is blocking things on your network and try to get a new one. It couldn't hurt to try. ;) Also check on your ISP's web page and look for compatible modems. Maybe you could get one that doesn't have a router in it.

But make sure NAT is turned off in the ISP router FIRST! Also bookmark the Apple site Well known TCP and UDP ports used by Apple software products because it says you must have port 427 open for Location services.

I sure hope in the "ISP" router has NAT off. The double NAT error of having two NAT routers in the same network could cause the problem.

If you are good at what you said then you should be afraid of /Applications/Utilities/Terminal app. There is a code to see if you change you work (without screwing with Preferences files) with the code: man networksetup Maybe you can do what you what with this Terminal command. Good Luck.
