Opening Question: Tiger to Tiger Ics And Networking . . Instructions . . .

27.10.05

Dear MACOSX team

TIGER TO TIGER ICS AND NETWORKING .. INSTRUCTIONS

Having trawled and searched the available informations at www.macosx.com .. we are unable
to find a scenario as simple as described, below.
Probably, because it is as easy as blinking .. but
we don't pretend to be clever .. just peristent
and willing .. with small measure of common sense.

QUESTION
Your instructions to confirm proper implementation
of a Tiger OS X (10.4.2+) to Tiger OS X (10.4.2+)
network and internet connection sharing is kindly
requested.

We are not satisfied (yet) that we have
accomplished the optimal or indeed any useful
networking communications and have so far
discovered that ICS appears to not be working at
all between MAC machines.

NETWORK
Cross-over ethernet cable between Mac mini and
iMac.

INTERNET
Dial-up. Either machine has independant dial-up
connection to Internet. Meaning either machine can
be the primary connection to the telephone line.

We await your eventual guidance with patient
enthusiasm. Your reference to any explanatory
instructions available would likely deliver the
positive outcome we seek. Any further questions
can then ideally be specific and progressive as
we establish the appropriate operating parameters.

Yours Sincerely
Stuart [Thorsing]
