NAS connectivity problems

I recently purchased a cnn-550 nas device. I am able to access shares through my pc, however when attempting to access through my (powerbook g4 osx 4.7 ) I am able to connect to the shares but the system hangs up when I attempt to access folders with any files in them. I keep my itunes library here and would like access to it from my powerbook.

I have attempted this wireless, direct connect from the powerbook & the cnn-550 as well as through a netgear router.

I am able to access shares from my xp system without any problems. It is only the nas storage that gives me trouble.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
