Exclamation Connecting network hard drive

Here's my situation. I have 2Wire home DSL wireless network. I have two Macs (a G5 and a MacBook), a wired US Robotics router, an Airport Express, and an Iomega ethernet drive. I read somewhere that I could connect the USR router WAN to the 2Wire, and the Airport Express and Iomega ethernet connections to different LAN connections on the USR router. Doesn't do a thing. I can't get either the 2Wire or the Macs to recognize the USR router. If the Airport Express is connected to the 2Wire, I can configure it, but it does not recognize the USR router.

Do I have all the wrong equipment or all the wrong setup? All I want to do it share the drive between Macs located in different parts of the house.

Thanks.
