Connected, but not at all

Hey!
I have little problem with my iMac (leopard), I mean connecting it to
the internet.

When I am connecting PC to modem (adsl) it is very simple. I just have to
type some numbers and it works. But dunno what to do on a mac.
I am connecting using (directly) RJ-45 cord.

It says that ethernet is connected but I can't open any site or just use
internet.
Of course I typed all those things that I have on sheet (IP MASK GATE DNS etc.)

please help.
n.

ElDiabloConCaca will become famous soon enough
In the System Preferences, under "Netowork", click on your "Ethernet" connection. From the "Configure:" pull-down menu, select "Create PPPoE Service".

A new aDSL (PPPoE) category will be created. Do the fields under that new PPPoE service look familiar?
