| Wireless Cards
Just got an Airport Extreme card for my PowerMac G4 (the newer one- not sure which exactly). When I put it in, the computer powers up but the screen is blank. Can you help me? Also, could you recommend me a good 3rd party wireless card that just plugs into an ethernet/phone jack, in case it isn't compatible?

Does your PowerMac boot OK after you remove the new card? Did you try reseating the airport card, making sure the card is fully seated? It will make a faint 'click' when properly installed. Make sure the antenna connector is seated, too!

The computer's on and whirring but no picture is on the screen. I'm fairly sure that the card is in the right place- do the card's prongs go over or under the computer's? The antenna is in as far as it will go.

What model of G4 is it? MDD? Quicksilver? What speed is the processor?

Anyway, as EDCC asked, we need to know which model of G4 you have. If you really don't know, there is a small sticker on the back panel that will have information that we can use to help you decide which model you have. Does your PowerMac still boot OK if you remove that wireless card?

No, it doesn't boot up- that's the problem. I'm fairly sure it's an AGP 4700 or something along those lines. Thanks for the help guys.
