Question iTunes interacting with my PC

I have a new iBook and a PC running Windows XP. I have a 40gb hard drive in the PC dedicated to holding mp3s. I love iTunes, and would like my library to look across the network on the pc for its mp3s. Is this possible? I'm assuming it wouldnt be possible to burn across the network (is it?), but I'm thinking I could probably play mp3s across the network. Does anyone know how to do this, or have any advice on the issue? Also, is there a program and/or script that can look at the network drive every day -- or other amount of time -- and add newly ripped albums to the library?

Thanks for any help and advice.
