| new ip address Just wondering if there is a way to get yourself a new ip address? If so, do you do this in your mac, or must you change it through your isp? thanks. |

| Depends on the ISP, really. You can release and renew DHCP IP addresses in Panther's Network preferences. In older versions of Mac OS X, you can switch to 'manual' instead of DHCP, save, revert to DHCP and save again to nenew your IP. (However, it doesn't always seem to work right.) It could be, however, that your ISP will just give you the same IP address all over again. The question, however, is why you'd want this at all. :P
