The Rendezvous protocol should be able to be used shouldn't it?
Connected G4 and G5 via IP over Firewire for fast fileserving. But run into some quirks I need assistance for. Setting up a new port-config and choosing "Built-in Firewire", it seems that DHCP is chosen automatically. This is fine, but it means that on restarting every time new IP-adresses are given.
This involves I have to checkup these adresses everytime to hard mount the disks. First Question: how can I hard mount the disks without looking up the changing IP-adresses?
Soft mounting is working of course, but I want hard mounting. Another quirk with changing IP-adresses is, that Quickeys can't be used to automount the disks.
I tried to change the settings to "DHCP with manually IP-adresses" and "Manually" but this does not work.
Who has experience with this and can help me out?
