system 7 macs and osx macs

i have an old system running system 7.6. i wanted to connect via my LAN to my eMac running osx 10.3 but could not find the eMac in the Chooser? How do i achieve this? It seems i cannot connect to my old mac which is on system 7.6 from the eMac too... Did Apple remove this "feature"?

Any advice please?

What happened is 7.6 can only do appletalk, not afp over tcp. Unfortunately the software bundled with 7.6 is probably not compatible with the latest version of appletalk. If you want to give it a try though you just need enable appletalk in your network prefs and see if the eMac shows up.
