Slow opening network-volumes

Hi,
I have a problem and your help is very appreciated: I have a network running with both macs and Win-PCs. Two of the macs are "newer" G4s. One with 1 Ghz, one with 1,25 Ghz (details below). Both running 10.3.4 with exactly the same settings. The 1 Ghz-Mac is very slow when I click on the network icon. The volumes appear only after 10-30 seconds. On the 1,25 Ghz-Mac the volumes appear at once. Also opening folders from the internal harddrive is sometimes slow.
I think the difference (Ghz) between those 2 Macs are not that significant that this could be an explanation..
Do you have any idea what the reason could be? Would be great if anyone can help....Thanks!

Philipp
