| Airport/Macwireless computer to computer connection help
Hi, I was wondering if anyone can help me! I've got an iBook with Airport built in and a Macwireless USB adapter on another computer.... My aim is to create a simple computer to computer connection between the computers for internet sharing. However I'm not sure of the settings to use! On my iBook I have activated the airport and used the computer to computer option to create a network...... but when I use the macwireless software to scan for network connection it finds none. Thanks for your help Chris |

I believe you have to set them up in ad-hoc mode, especially since there is no access point to act as the middleman.

Hi, Thanks....... had a quick search to see what to do and as far as I can see it is as simple as giving my main comp an IP address of say 192.168.0.1, and then giving then the iBook an IP of say 192.168.0.2 through to 192.168.0.254? While setting the Subnet to 255.255.255.0 ? Is this right or am I missing a step?, it just seems a bit too simple LOL Thanks again Chris |
