apple's photo processing prices?

just got a digital camera, and trying iPhoto for the first time.

I ordered ONE print.... from apple, 4x6... want to see how well this camera is for hard copy prints.

Anyway, that one print was .49, not bad I guess.

But, total with shipping was $2.99

ouch!

seems expensive to me.... for one pic? Am I wrong?

Testuser is right, shipping is always going to get you.

Always consider shipping when ordering anything online. Sometimes the “discounted” online price is really made up with shipping costs. And believe it or not it’s cheaper for you to hop in your car and drive down to the local (insert your favourite computer shop here) and buy it there.

Keep an eye out for “free shipping” deals, they really can be a money saver.

How did the print turn out? Was it worth the money?

I’m a big fan of using my local Kinkos for digital printing my photos. I have a 16 x 9 panoramic photo framed in my living room. I get compliments on it all the time. I took the photo, scanned it, touched it up in Photoshop, printed it at Kinkos and framed and matted it myself. The entire thing cost me around $30... With frame and everything. (I know a frame reseller so I can get good frames cheap).

ive used a 35mm for years, and I usually drop off 24 pics at motophoto 1hr for about..... $14. (4x6 photos). too High I feel.

dont forget the cost of the film....

thats why I went digital. a big reason. I can take MORE pics, put them online, email them, burn to cd.... ditch the ones I dont like/want... much more versatile and cheaper. Then, I'll ONLY make hard copies of a few, if any.

from now on, my photoalbums will be on cdrom.

I agree, there are benefits to printed pics. Not using them will take some getting use to I must admit.

ive got tons of pics in different albums from over the years.
