Apple Should Buy AVID

I saw some other posts on here about Apple possibly buying AVID. What do you think? Should they? Could they? I would love to see Apple buy AVID and kill the Windows line. Anyone else want to comment?

Why would Apple buy Avid just to "kill" the Windows line? Shouldn't people have a choice as to which hardware they want to buy to support a software system?

Is there a holy war going on that I should know about?
