Objective Printer recommendation

I have an HP Officejet J5780 and have problems with both scanning and faxing; very troublesome to use. I am thinking to change to a better all-in-one printer, can people share their good stories?

I find all in ones have lots of issues. I've always just used a scanner and printer separately.

Having given that subjective remark...

HP is a great brand, as is Canon. Can't go wrong with either of those unless you update to the latest OS X (right now 10.5.7) in which case many of the printers/all in ones out there won't even have an updated driver yet.
